Random Beauty

IMG_9148One of the things I like most about wandering most any city is to find, at random, evidence that art is not always created at the hand of a person. While I know the eternal arguments about mother nature’s artful creations, what I like to see are “mini-creations” resulting from the micro-conditions of city. Recently I was in Minneapolis to conduct business and meet some friends for dinner. Since I was early to dinner, I was walking at a slower pace than usual—and looking at the effect of wind on trash and debris. This photo shows a collection of leaves, small branches, cobwebs and grasses juxtaposed alongside a joint in the concrete. My photo is deliberately composed to align the join with the edge of the frame. The swirl collection was not moved.
